Your final exam time is scheduled following the University's scheduling examinations policy. Always confirm your final exam time with your instructor.
The final examination week is part of the regular school term and must be considered by students when planning any other activities or work outside of school hours. Students are expected to know the hours for their final examination and to attend the examinations when scheduled.
The time of the examination is based on the hours and days the class is regularly scheduled. Unless otherwise announced, the exam will be held in the classroom in which the course is taught. In determining the hours and days of final exams from examination schedules use the following guidelines:
- Go by the lecture hour rather than the laboratory or discussion hours.
- Use the MWF start time if your class meets on any or all of these days.
- Use the TTh start time if your class meets on any or all of these days.
- Use the first full class hour if your class meets more than one continuous hour.
- Instructors may use asynchronous online or take-home exams that allow students to take an exam at a time of their choosing rather than at a scheduled final examination time. The due date for these exams must not be earlier than the published Standard Final Exam Schedule day/time for that course
- Final examinations for courses that do not run for a full semester, May session, and summer session courses are scheduled during the regular meeting time of the course on the last day.
- All one and two credit course examinations will be given during the final week of class during the regular class hours.

Online Classes
Final examinations for online classes cannot be due prior to the start of the campus scheduled four-day final exam period and cannot be due later than the last day of the published final exam schedule. The exam due date must be listed in the syllabus. Instructors must provide a minimum of four days to complete asynchronous exams. Instructors must schedule synchronous exams during the campus scheduled four-day final exam period and be listed in the syllabus showing both the day and hour the exam will be given.
Resolving an exam conflict
You are required to take final examinations at the times shown. However, if you have examination conflicts or three (or more) final exams within one calendar day, you may request adjustment with your college office and with your instructor. Such a request must be presented at least two weeks before the examination period begins.
If your instructor has requested a variation from the official final exam schedule, he or she must (1) give a special make-up exam to any students who have exam conflicts, or (2) give three (or more) exams in one calendar day.
If you miss a final, an I, an F, or an N is recorded, depending upon your standing at the time. To make up the exam, you must obtain the instructor's permission.
